Kling 4.0: 30-second clips, ten keyframes, full launch in October
Kling's announcementKling AI's announcement of Kling 4.0

Kling AI has announced Kling 4.0, the next generation of its video model, on 30 September. Early access to the new creation experience began rolling out to a limited group of users on 28 September, as Kling 4.0 Flash; the full model is due in October 2026.
Longer clips with more control
4.0 generates video natively from 3 to 30 seconds, twice the 15 seconds Kling 3.0 reached. It supports up to ten keyframes — images the clip has to pass through at chosen moments — on top of the start and end frames 3.0 already had.
Picture and sound
Output goes up to 4K, and 4.0 adds the 21:9 ultrawide frame. Kling says 10-bit HDR at 1080p and 4K is coming soon. Audio moves to two-channel stereo, and the spoken languages add Portuguese, German, French, Hindi and others to Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
References
One generation can take up to fifteen reference assets combined, including up to five reference videos. Text-to-video, image-to-video, references, continuation and editing now live in a single workflow rather than separate tools.

After Sora: the AI video APIs still taking requests
OpenAI switched off the Sora 2 API on 24 September with no replacement named. Four AI video APIs a Sora integration can move to — xAI, Google, MiniMax and Kling — and what each one asks of you.

One scene, three prompt formats
A screenwriter's guide to the three ways AI video models want a scene written: LTX reads a flowing paragraph, MiniMax H3 a tagged shot list with timed cuts, Kling a timeline pinned to keyframes. The same scene in each.

Kling 4.0 vs Kling 3.0: what actually changes
Kling 4.0 doubles the clip length to 30 seconds, adds up to ten keyframes, stereo sound and 10-bit HDR, and more than doubles the references one AI video can take. Kling's own comparison, line by line.
