Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is generally available, now up to 4K
Gemini API changelogGoogle's changelog for the Gemini API

Google's Gemini API changelog for 27 August lists gemini-omni-1.1-flash as generally available. Two months ago it was a preview that made short clips; the release version does considerably more.
From preview to release
gemini-omni-flash-preview arrived on 30 June: clips of 3 to 10 seconds at 720p, with conversational editing through the Interactions API — asking for a change to a clip rather than regenerating it. The GA model adds video extension, interpolation between two images, and a choice of 360p, 720p, 1080p or 4K.
Move off the preview by 30 September
The preview shuts down on 30 September. It is the second shutdown in Google's video line this summer: veo-2.0 and veo-3.0 were switched off on 30 June, with users pointed to veo-3.1.
